At H&N Systems, we recognize that sometimes our neighbors need a little bit of help, especially now during economic and health and safety instability caused by Covid-19. We therefore pledge to donate our extra earnings to organizations we trust that are making a meaningful difference in our communities. Our focus is to donate to organizations that assist with food and housing insecurity. Here are the organizations we are currently supporting and ways you can also help:
Broadway Youth Center (BYC), a program of Howard Brown Health, provides a safe haven for young LGBTQ people and those experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
Webster Groves School District Foundation
This year, every school district including the Webster Groves School District (WGSD), is challenged to respond to unprecedented new educational requirements, as well as health, safety and emotional needs.
Funds raised will help two major priorities:
- Aid for our most vulnerable school populations.
- Technology to enable educational experiences consistent with our high standards.
Over 40,000 people, including almost 10,000 children, are food insecure in HHFB’s service area. HHFB Mobile Pantries served 5,042 households containing 13,126 individuals in 2017. This is an average of 420 households or 1,094 individuals every month.
The RestEssBar association counteracts both food waste and food insecurity by collecting food which might otherwise end up as waste to donate to low-income families free of charge. The aim is to use the food produced as fully as possible. With the RestEssBar at least part of the food is saved and at the same time a possibility of free food is created for people with limited financial means. All food collected and distributed meets the required food quality standards.
